All Star BandThe date for the All Star Band rehearsals and performance is in January. The event will be held at Alpena High School in 2025.
Please contact Kim Gordon if you have any questions. The Junior All-Star Band consists of students from grades 7 through 9 The Senior All-Star Band consists of students from grades 10 through 12. If you are a 9th Grader who wants to try out for both groups you are allowed to do so. Make sure to mark your audition recordings with which group you would most want to be in. Students will need to download the audition music (found below) along with the chromatic scales (Scales must be recorded at 120 beats per minute starting as of 5-4-2016). Students then record their auditions and submit by the first part of January. Band Directors get together to listen to the auditions the first week after Christmas vacation and will make All Star Band Rosters that week. Google and Apple Maps are your friend for finding which Hotels are available. |

Importants Information for those that have been choosen
- Arrive with your music well prepared beforehand.
- Bring a pencil to rehearsal - you are a musician.
- Bring your school uniform for the concert on Saturday.
- The concert begins at 2PM there is no admission fee.
- You will be provided lunch on Saturday. Only a snack will be provided Friday, so eat supper before arriving at rehearsal.

Important News About Submitting Recordings
As of the 2015-2016 school year we will be following a new process for submitting student recordings!
We are in the process of testing out the process of using Google Drive and having a shared folder. All Directors will have access to that folder. Directors will then be responsible for uploading mp3 recordings of their students into that folder before the listening date.
The Google Drive process will be fully working for you as soon as Paul Shimmons in Farwell gets your gmail email address. Everyone can then get familiar with the process through the months of September and October enough that the actual audition process will go without a hitch.
